Webflow design and development for Bloom Studio, an interior architecture and design practice based in Ibiza. A digital experience shaped by carefully selected photography, editorial composition and subtle interactions, with close attention to the details that bring the site together.

‍

The starting point

Bloom needed a digital presence that reflected the sensibility of its work. From the first impression, the website had to convey the attention to proportion, balance and detail that runs through the studio’s projects.

I built the experience around how images are discovered and the space surrounding them. From the opening page through to individual project stories, the aim was to create a visual journey that draws people in and gives them time to look.

‍

Editorial, timeless design

The design draws on an editorial approach: clear hierarchies, balanced compositions, understated typography and room for the photography. I chose a simple, timeless aesthetic whose character comes from the relationship between these elements.

That simplicity depends on precision. Alignment, proportion and spacing create a cohesive visual language, designed to retain its identity as new projects are added to the portfolio.

‍

Selecting images, shaping the story

Choosing the photography was an integral part of the design. I worked on the sequence with the visitor’s journey in mind: which image should open the story, which photographs belong together and where to introduce a pause.

These decisions shaped the asymmetrical compositions, changing formats and shifts in scale throughout the pages. Some photographs fill the available width; others sit alongside one another or stand alone. Each arrangement changes the pace and the emphasis an image receives.

‍

I also considered the transition from one composition to the next. Empty space allows a photograph to hold the visitor’s attention before the next image comes into view. This sequence gives each project its own character within a consistent visual language.

‍

Small movements, precise details

The same attention carries through to the motion. I introduced subtle animations that accompany scrolling and respond to interaction, preserving the calm pace of the experience.

How an element appears, a caption is revealed or the interface responds to the cursor all contribute to the overall impression. I refined the timing and intensity of these transitions so they would feel natural within the composition.

The quieter details matter too: the distance between a photograph and its caption, the position of a link and the alignment of elements across a page. Together, they give the interface its sense of care and continuity.

‍

A flexible Webflow structure

To support this compositional freedom, I developed a modular CMS in Webflow. Project pages use reusable blocks for full-width photography, portrait images and paired compositions, which can be combined in different sequences.

This structure gives each project room for its own narrative while retaining shared proportions and layout rules. Descriptions, project information and supporting details complete the page according to the needs of each story.

I also adapted the compositions for different screen sizes, adjusting image dimensions, spacing and layout to preserve the rhythm on mobile.

‍

Migration and SEO continuity

Moving the existing website to Webflow also meant considering the search visibility Bloom had already built. I approached the migration with the aim of maintaining continuity online and preserving the SEO value of the content through the transition.

SEO optimisation ran alongside the redesign. I reviewed the page structure, heading hierarchy and metadata to make the content clearer and strengthen its relevance to the studio’s work.

On such a visual website, the amount and placement of text require careful balance. I worked to integrate useful search content into the narrative while retaining the site’s restrained tone. The migration became an opportunity to renew the experience and strengthen its SEO foundations.

‍

The result

Bloom now has a portfolio whose presentation reflects the care that goes into the studio’s projects.

Image selection and composition shape the story, while subtle animations guide its discovery. A flexible Webflow structure and an approach to migration focused on SEO continuity support the site’s ongoing development, keeping the same attention to design, content and detail.
