Webflow e-commerce site creation for Erika Fresch Collections

SEO and UX optimization: a personalized e-commerce Webflow site

Erika Fresch Collections is an handmade jewelry brand based in Italy, transforming painted canvases into unique jewelry. I had the opportunity to work on their e-commerce site using Webflow, integrating a template to optimize implementation time and offering training to the customer for an effective use of the tool.

Erika Collections

The main objective for this project was to create an attractive and functional e-commerce site for Erika Fresch Collections. To achieve this, I integrated a custom template, specially chosen to meet the aesthetic and functional needs of the brand. Particular attention has been paid to the optimization of technical SEO and product sheets, in order to improve the visibility of the site on search engines and to attract qualified traffic. At the same time, I worked on improving the user experience (UX) to offer smooth and intuitive navigation to visitors. Finally, I provided comprehensive training to the client so that he could manage and update his site independently, making full use of Webflow's functionalities.

2. Technical SEO Optimization

Technical SEO optimization was crucial to improve the site's visibility on search engines. The following actions have been taken:

- Meta tag optimization: All pages have optimized meta titles and descriptions, incorporating keywords relevant to the handmade jewelry sector.

- URL structure: The URLs have been simplified and optimized to include descriptive keywords.

- Semantic markup: Appropriate use of H1, H2, and H3 tags to structure content in a hierarchical manner.

- Improvement of site speed: Optimization of images and use of “lazy load” techniques to improve page loading times.

- Use of Schema Markup: Implementation of schema.org markup to provide structured data to search engines, thus improving content understanding and display in search results.

- Optimizing URLs: URLs have been simplified and rewritten to include relevant keywords and be more descriptive, making them easier for search engines and users to understand.

- Internal Networking: An internal networking strategy has been put in place to link pages together logically, thus improving navigation and the distribution of “SEO juice”.

- Use of Local Fonts: The fonts have been hosted locally to reduce load times and avoid external dependencies.

- robots.txt file: A robots.txt file has been configured to manage the access of indexing robots to the various sections of the site.

- XML sitemap: An XML sitemap was generated and submitted to Google Search Console to ensure efficient indexing of all pages on the site.

Other SEO Optimizations

- Compression of CSS and JS files: Reduced file size to speed up page loading.

- Minification of resources: The CSS and JS files have been minified to eliminate unnecessary spaces and comments.

3. Optimization of Product Sheets

Product sheets play a crucial role in converting visitors into customers. The following optimizations have been implemented:

- Detailed Descriptions: Each product has a detailed description including materials, dimensions, and design inspiration.

- High-quality images: Integration of high-quality photos and multiple views of each product to provide a complete visual experience.

- Relevant keywords: Incorporation of targeted keywords into image titles, descriptions, and alt tags.

- Schema Markup: Use of schema.org markup for product sheets, including reviews, prices, and availability, in order to improve their appearance in search results.

4. Improving the User Experience (UX)

To ensure an optimal user experience, several UX improvements have been implemented:

- Intuitive navigation: Creation of a clear and structured menu, facilitating access to the various sections of the site.

- Responsive Design: The site has been designed to adapt perfectly to all types of devices, offering a consistent user experience on desktop, tablet and mobile.

- Performance: Optimizing page load times to reduce bounce rates and improve user engagement.

- Interactivity: Addition of micro-interactions and animations to make navigation more engaging and intuitive.

- Call-to-Action (CTA): Strategic use of CTAs to guide users through the site and encourage them to perform key actions (purchase, registration, etc.).

- Accessibility: Ensure that the site is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, by respecting best web accessibility practices.

5. Customer Training

Extensive training has been provided to Erika Fresch to enable her to manage and update the content of the site independently. This training covered:

- Product Management: Adding and updating products in Webflow.

- Continuous SEO optimization: Best practices for maintaining and improving natural referencing.

- Use of Webflow: Navigating the interface, modifying the content, and managing orders.
